The Glen Celebrates Active Aging Week

Community invited to participate in events

The Glen is excited to announce that it will serve as a registered host site for Active Aging Week, a national celebration highlighting the positive aspects of aging and the many opportunities for older adults to remain active physically, socially, and mentally.

During the week of October 6, The Glen invites community members to join residents in a weeklong series of wellness-focused events. Throughout the week, guests can enjoy a wide variety of activities designed to promote health, creativity, and fun, including fitness classes, campus walking tours with The Glen’s CEO, and educational presentations.

Events open to the community are free to attend. To participate in any of the scheduled community events below, please RSVP to 318-798-3500.

Monday, October 6: Move it Monday

9 AM: The Glen Walking History Tour with Debra Williams, CEO (Meet in Lobby)
10 AM: Water Aerobics (Redbrook Pool)
1 PM: Balance and Beyond (Auditorium)
2:30 PM: Dave Barry, Speaker: “The Importance of Physical Activity as You Age” (Auditorium)

Tuesday, October 7: Tech Tuesday 

9 AM: Morning Stretch (Grandmother’s Garden)
10 AM: Chair Fitness (Auditorium)
2 PM: Staying Safe Online: Fraud Prevention 101 (Auditorium)

Wednesday, October 8: Wellness Wednesday

9 AM: The Glen Walking History Tour with Debra Williams, CEO (Meet in Lobby)
10 AM: Water Aerobics (RB Pool)
